In 11 days Daron, Stefanie, Monica and myself will be heading to New York! It will be my first time in the Big Apple and I'm terribly excited! Here's what we plan to do:
Wednesday:
Evening/Night -- fly TO NYC!
Thursday:
Morning -- Chinatown, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty
--We're not actually going to the Statue of Liberty. It's a full day experience and they've all done it. Therefore, I requested that we go to the Battery Park area so that I can at least SEE it and take some pics of it!
Afternoon -- Little Italy
--This, and Chinatown, is appearantly where you can shop in basements for cool hats, scarves, purses, etc...
Evening -- Seth Rudetsky @ Chatterbox, a show (In the Heights?) and then to Sardies
--Seth is the DJ on Sirius 77 - Broadway's Best. I LOVE listening to him and I'm really excited to get to go see him live! They have 2 show stars at the show, but we won't know who it is until we get there. Let's hope it's a Heights or Billy Elliot star?!
--Sardies is where the stars go after shows....well, at least they used to. There's no guarantee we'll see anyone, but there's always a chance!
Friday:
Morning -- The Met Art Museum
Afternoon -- Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Tiffany's
--I'm kinda thinking it's cool that I'm going to St. Patrick's right before I go to Ireland on St. Patrick's Day...just saying.
--Also can't wait to go to Tiffany's! Hope to get a necklace or something there!
Evening -- Restaurant Week and a show
--Restaurant Week is this thing where restaurants serve 3 or 4 course meals for $35. We're looking at going to a steakhouse where we'll likely get a salad, steak, and dessert for $35!!! Sounds good to me!
Saturday:
Morning -- Washington Square Park, Greenwich Village, and Soho
--We're looking at taking a food tour of the area...
Afternoon -- show?
Evening -- show?
Sunday:
Morning -- Today Show and Central Park
Afternoon/Evening -- fly home
That's the plan....we're looking at In The Heights, Billy Elliot, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Blithe Spirit and some others. We also want to find this Dessert truck where 2 guys make seriously good desserts from the back of their truck (Stefanie and Monica saw it on the food channel). The weather while we're there will probably be somewhere between the 30's and 50's -- most likely closer to the low 40's....which brings me to the rest of the afternoon -- Val and I are going to go look for me a coat, scarf, gloves, hat, etc for the trip!!!!
